The year-round park switches to shorter hours after the second Sunday in October, making departure time part of the plan.

A lake visit can be as simple as a short shoreline stop and time to watch the water. Acworth’s South Shore Park offers that kind of outing at 4555 Ragsdale Road, on the southern side of Lake Acworth.
The city describes a 30-acre park with parking, a beach and fishing areas, open year-round. Its hours change seasonally: from the first Saturday in April through the second Sunday in October, the posted closing time is 9 p.m.; outside that period, hours are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

For an October visit after that changeover, use the earlier closing time when planning your return. The city also distinguishes seasonal non-resident parking charges from the off-season, when it lists parking at South Shore and Cauble parks as free. Check the park page for the current fee calendar before a later-season trip.
Keep the outing matched to present conditions. A beach in a park’s amenities list is not a guarantee about water quality, weather or the availability of any particular service that day. A brief walk, a view of the lake and a clear departure plan can be plenty.
