Acworth’s library story began long before the current regional building. Cobb County traces its roots to the Carrie Dyer Reading Club, established in 1889. The Acworth and Kennesaw libraries later became part of the county system and were consolidated into North Cobb Regional Library in September 2019.
The branch at 3535 Old 41 Highway in Kennesaw serves the surrounding communities with more than shelves. The county lists a makerspace, computer training lab, teen and children’s areas, study and meeting rooms, an outdoor plaza and a community garden.

For residents with a specific project, the best first step is to ask which space or service fits. A quiet study session, a group meeting and a making activity can have different access or reservation arrangements. The facility list is an invitation to investigate, rather than a promise that every tool is available without preparation.
Check current hours and any equipment requirements with the branch before visiting. If the goal is a manageable first experience, choose one task: explore the catalog, find a work space or ask about a makerspace activity. The building is easier to use when the visit begins with a clear question.
